What is a design garden house?

A design garden house from our shop is a house-frame kit that lets you build the structure or basic framework for a tiny house.

Our top design garden house sets form the frameworks for dome houses in various sizes and versions.

A key feature of the design garden house is how quickly and easily it can be assembled. Depending on the size, the frame can be put up within a day.

What material is a design garden house made from?

The design garden house set is made from Nordic pine. For outdoor use, Nordic pine is ideal – it simply needs to be impregnated/treated for exterior conditions.

Because you have plenty of freedom when finishing out the design garden house set, the timber is also very attractive indoors. Depending on how you plan to use it, it can be enough to fit only the exterior cladding, creating a rustic look with the frame visible from the inside.

What sizes are available for a design garden house?

In our online DIY store you’ll find the design garden house models D4 and D6 in different versions – optionally with 1 or 2 storeys.

  • The D4 offers a usable floor area of 9.9 m² (approx. 107 sq ft).
  • The D6 offers a usable floor area of 28 m² (approx. 301 sq ft).

As a dome-house structure, the design garden house provides more interior space compared with conventional gable-roof buildings.

We can supply additional timber frame variants on request. Simply contact our customer service on 07158 / 1724859 or by email at info@bmsc24.de.

How is a design garden house assembled?

All versions of the design garden house are very easy to assemble using an innovative plug-in system. In addition, all parts for the tiny house are labelled, so the dome-shaped structure can be put together in the correct order without any hassle.

How much does a design garden house cost?

Compared with other similar prefabricated houses and tiny houses, a design garden house costs a fraction of the price. The timber frame set offers outstanding value for money.

  • D4 is around €2,000
  • D6 is around €3,600

Depending on the specification and materials you choose, costs for the façade, insulation and interior fit-out will vary.

In this case, the intended use is key: will it be used for living, as a sauna, a garden hut, or a covered terrace? The possibilities are almost endless.

What’s the difference between a design garden house, a prefabricated house and a tiny house?

A design garden house from our shop is a hybrid solution between a prefabricated house and a tiny house. Depending on the application, the design garden house can remain mobile, because the frame – i.e. the basic structure – is simply plugged together and is self-supporting.

And thanks to the modular concept, the design garden house can be extended or added to just as easily.

The design garden house concept is also a very good and stylish alternative for exhibition stand construction.

What’s included in the design garden house set, and what do you need to source separately?

With our design garden house set, all materials for the basic structure are supplied. This includes all timber elements as well as the connectors.

It also comes with detailed instructions for the kit, so you can assemble the framework for your new building in no time.

What is a design garden house clad with?

For the exterior skin or façade, different materials make sense depending on how you plan to use it. If you’re planning it as an enclosed building, make sure the outer-layer material matches your insulation and interior fit-out.

Among other things, you need to ensure that moisture in your tiny house can escape to the outside. Or, if insulating with PU foam, that ventilation is planned and implemented correctly.

How does the interior fit-out work in a design garden house?

Similar to the cladding, the interior fit-out of a design garden house needs to take into account how the materials work together, so that moisture control, insulation and ventilation are properly coordinated.

Can you use a tiny house as a garden house?

You can use your tiny house perfectly as a garden house. Depending on your preferences, you can choose to fit it out comfortably and install electricity and water – or keep it simple and rustic.

How stable is a design garden house?

The self-supporting structure of the design garden house has several advantages. Firstly, it’s very stable by design. Secondly, the frame is extremely lightweight and, for the smaller tiny house models, can be loaded into a small van.

For a secure footing, the design garden house must be properly fixed to the foundation or to piles.

Can you use a design garden house as a sauna?

With the right cladding and the appropriate interior fit-out, your design garden house is perfectly suited for use as a sauna.

Do I need planning permission for a design garden house?

As each region has its own regulations and rules on building and garden use, you should contact your local authority for further information on permits and requirements relating to your tiny house.
