What are the functions of lawn edging?

Our lawn edging creates a neat finish for lawn areas and plant beds. This makes garden maintenance easier and is highly versatile. Thanks to its structure, lawn edging helps keep your garden tidy and allows you to clearly separate areas such as flower beds or vegetable patches. At the same time, you get an ideal, clean mowing edge. Garden areas are not only defined by the bed edging, but also protected, as lawn edging acts as a barrier against the lawn mower.

What are the applications of lawn edging?

Lawn edging can be used universally in many parts of the garden. As the name suggests, it neatly borders the lawn. In addition, special areas such as flower beds or decorative borders can be visually defined and highlighted. You can also use lawn edging to create a smart and decorative finish along paths or gravel areas, for example in the front yard.

Beyond the attractive look, using bed edging also helps keep natural materials such as turf, soil, gravel or chippings in place. This gives you great eye-catchers in the garden and less work, because everything stays where it belongs thanks to the lawn edging.

What is the best lawn edging?

Ideally, good lawn edging should have a minimum height of 10 cm. This height ensures it can be set deep enough into the ground. In addition, a thickness of at least 1 cm is recommended. Depending on the area of use and purpose, different materials (e.g. wood, metal or plastic) offer specific advantages. Thats why it can be helpful to think in advance about where outdoors and for what purpose the bed edging will be used before buying.

What materials is lawn edging made from?

In our shop, we offer modern, high-quality lawn edging made from different materials. The edging and metal strips are available in various sizes and model versions. Our current range includes:

• Lawn edging/plant rings made of galvanized steel
• Lawn edging made of PE/PP
• Lawn edging made of PET

Our plant rings made of galvanized steel are robust, durable and corrosion-protected. They are also extremely impact-resistant, yet still flexible to use, allowing you to shape the bed border to your needs especially for edging curved lawn areas. Another advantage of high-quality metal lawn edging is its understated look: thanks to its slim thickness, it is barely noticeable and blends seamlessly into the garden. Finally, the sturdy metal plant rings are also a reliable barrier against snails.

Plastic bed edging is easy to install and maintain; in our shop you can get it in PE/PP or PET plastic. Key material properties include a long service life and resistance to rot. In addition, the lawn edging is dimensionally stable as well as weather- and UV-resistant. Compared to galvanized steel lawn edging, plastic lawn edging is usually more affordable, but its service life is somewhat shorter.

How do I create a neat lawn edge?

With the right tools, you can install lawn edging and improve existing edges. You can lay lawn edging at any time, but its best not to install it in the middle of the growing season early spring is ideal.

Before you start, make sure you have enough bed edging elements in stock. Thats why its recommended to measure the area you want to border before buying. Use a spade or a lawn edging tool to cut a groove, then insert the individual lawn edging elements deep into the ground and connect them. In our shop youll also find lawn edging nails, which are useful for a more stable, long-lasting hold. Finally, firm up the surrounding soil, check the edge height and level the ground.
