What is the cheapest privacy screen?
A roll-out bamboo or reed mat is the cheapest option. However, this type of screen is not weather-resistant and usually doesn’t keep its good looks for long.
There are also plastic privacy screening mats, which are slightly more expensive but far more durable than natural screening mats.
What privacy screening options are available?
When looking for the right privacy screen, you have plenty of choices. Options include opaque fencing, privacy panels made of plastic, metal or wood, as well as trellises or natural hedges. Another popular solution is privacy screening strips, available in various designs.
What is a welded wire mesh fence?
A welded wire mesh fence is a metal fence. It is based on mesh panels made by welding vertical wires to horizontal cross wires. Privacy screening strips can be threaded into these mesh panels.
How do you attach a privacy screening mat?
As a rule, you fix the screen to the posts using fence ties. It helps to leave a gap of around 1 cm (approx. 0.4 in) between the screen and the post to reduce the wind load. In general, screening mats and screening strips are quick and easy to fit. It’s best to secure screening mats with cable ties.
How do you fit PVC privacy screening?
You can install PVC privacy screening strips in different ways. PVC strips are rigid and therefore stable, so they stay firmly in place.
For polyrattan screening strips, there are dedicated clips. To keep the fixings as discreet as possible, choose installation accessories in the same colour as the PVC screening strips.
What are privacy screening strips?
Privacy screening strips let you turn mesh fencing into an opaque barrier. They are typically 190 mm wide (approx. 7.5 in) and have the selected texture on both sides. You can simply weave the strips horizontally through the fence mesh and secure them further if needed.
How are willow screening mats attached?
You can mount willow mats like reed mats to your balcony railing or chain-link fence using 6–12 thin wires per running metre (approx. 3.3 ft).
What materials are our privacy screening mats & strips made from?
Our range includes natural willow screening mats, plastic (polyethylene) screening mats, and PVC privacy screening strips. They can be used on balconies, patios and in gardens – wherever you need privacy screening. Depending on the material, the mats and strips offer different properties.
For example, willow screening mats create a natural look. Plastic screening strips and mats, on the other hand, have the advantage of being quick and easy to clean.
What are the benefits of privacy screening mats & strips?
Privacy screening mats and strips give you more privacy at home. Whether on the balcony, patio or in the garden, they protect you from prying eyes as well as external influences such as sunlight and wind – so you can enjoy your outdoor space in peace.
