Gutter leaf guard – clean, debris-free gutters
How important it is to fit a gutter leaf guard becomes clear in the following scenario: leaves, twigs or moss – blocked gutters are a problem every homeowner knows. Especially in autumn, a lot of leaves are blown into the gutter. If they are not removed in time, the gutter and downpipe can quickly overflow during heavy rain and, in the worst case, damage the façade of your house or garage.
With a good gutter leaf guard and minimal effort, you can prevent this easily and effectively. To help stop roof drainage components from clogging, the products in our gutter leaf guard category offer a wide choice. To match premium brands INEFA and Zambelli, we stock compatible leaf protection for our gutters. Gutter leaf guards provide reliable protection – effective all year round.
You can find more useful information about gutters and leaf protection in our roof drainage guide.
What is a gutter leaf guard used for?
Leaf protection for gutters stops leaves and twigs from settling in the rain gutter. The debris stays on the surface, dries out and is simply blown away by the wind.
This helps you avoid time-consuming cleaning and costly damage. Instead, you get a clean gutter and continuous water flow when using gutter leaf protection.
Which is better: gutter brush or mesh guard?
For half-round gutters, leaf guard mesh or gutter brushes are usually the best choice. Mesh guards are probably the most popular option for gutter leaf protection. Supplied in rolls, they are flexible to use and their tight mesh reliably catches even small leaves. The mesh is also easy to adapt and can be cut to size with scissors to match your gutter dimensions.
If you want to protect your gutter not only from leaf build-up but also from bird nests or martens, a gutter brush (also known as a gutter hedgehog) is a proven solution. It is easy to fit and ready to use quickly, as it simply needs to be placed into the rain gutter. For a more secure hold, we recommend using clips.
Leaf guard strips are ideal, for example, for box gutters. Thanks to the simple clip system, they can be fastened quickly to the gutter.
Gutter leaf protection also includes a leaf trap basket to reduce the risk of blockages caused by leaves and twigs. It is easily fitted to the downpipe and can be removed again and again for cleaning.
What materials are gutter leaf guards made from?
Our INEFA leaf guard meshes are made from UV- and weather-resistant, impact-tough polyethylene (PE) plastic – free from environmentally harmful heavy metals.
INEFA leaf guard strips are made from polypropylene. This plastic is considered an extremely robust material and is therefore well suited for gutter leaf protection. Thanks to its environmentally friendly properties, it contains no heavy metals and is free from plasticisers.
The INEFA leaf trap basket and the gutter brush are both made from PVC-U plastic. This material is characterised by UV resistance and resistance to acids/alkalis, impact strength and dimensional stability. It is also free from plasticisers and difficult to ignite.
We also offer suitable gutter leaf protection for our zinc gutters: Zambelli’s leaf guard mesh is made from high-quality aluminium, which is weather-resistant, rustproof and compatible with all other building metals.
How is gutter leaf protection installed?
Although there are different products for gutter leaf protection, they all have one thing in common: they are quick and easy to install.

- Insert or clamp the leaf trap baskets into the outlet/downpipe connection.
- Simply clamp INEFA leaf guard mesh into the gutter.
